Good Morning, I am excited about Love at First Glance Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. It is running for February and I hope a few of you will make it to the show. I had two pieces accepted and there are many others to enjoy, I think 100 in total. It is wonderful to have art in February and celebrating love is always welcomed. The following images are now on my website and I also posted them in Facebook. Hope to see you there. Magenta Medley, Acrylic, 16 x 16 Love is in the Air 2, Acrylic, 10 x 10
Hello fellow art lovers and painter, sculptors and other artists
This has been a wonderful year for me, full of opportunities and adventures in art. I met some new artists in the studio where I paint at Rock Bay Square in Victoria and had an inspiring trip to Nova Scotia where I have an exhibition with my friend in September of 2016. I am having a feature at the Victoria Central Library in March and also one at Second Crack Coffee Outlet on Bridge Street in Victoria. Many new adventures this year and many paintings to enjoy creating. I am noticing that I continue to want to explore new surfaces and textures in my work and allow the painting to direct me. It is such a freeing process and allows all sorts of magical things to happen. I am encouraging myself to share more of my process this year and hope to stay better connected to the lovers of doing and the lovers of seeing the paintings. Have a fantastic New Year and may Peace prevail and grow in 2016. I just spent a few days on the Sunshine Coast by the ocean and looking
out at the glorious mountains. I am now returning to my studio to explored the possibilities that my imagination and psyche have retained and I will see what wants to be translated onto the canvas. Happy Labour Day to all and enjoy the beautiful month of September. The birth month of my son and my granddaughter. I am participating in a Group Exhibition at Red Gallery in Oak Bay in September. It is a Mystery Show so I cannot share a photo of my work. Please come out to the opening....I will send you the dates later. I have been in my studio painting tiny paintings for a venue where I
show called Le Couteau Farms. I will deliver these paintings this weekend. Now it is time to get busy on larger pieces and I am so excited about all I have seen and what I have taken in will come out whatever way it is meant to...I feel lucky to be the scribe. Images to be posted in the next week or so. I hope everyone is having a fun and adventuresome summer. Good morning and I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day and
July 4th to my American friends. After 5 days of sun, fun and sand in between my toes it is now time to get busy. This week will find me sharing some images from the past week and exploring new potentials in art. My spirit and heart are filled up and ready to explode onto the canvas....to be continued Good morning
I am going away for a few days up island to the Parksville area where I will take loads of photos and capture the rest in my memory for future paintings. I get to have my talented granddaughter with me who is always mentoring me in seeing and observing the smallest and most beautiful elements of nature. I look forward to connecting when I get back. Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians; we are blessed to live in this amazing country. Good morning - this weekend I am part of an art exhibition called
Art Quest organized by Lynda Lombardi an encaustic artist. Lynda and I work at our studios in the same building called Rock Bay Square on Bridge Street in Victoria. This exhibition is a combination of emerging and established artists who will be presenting paintings, photography, mixed media, encaustics, sculptures and turned wood. Come and join us at 1600 Cook Street across from Gallery 1580 and enter on Mason Street through the garden gate. Dates and Times: Friday, May 15, 4-8 p.m. Saturday, May 16, noon-5 p.m. We look forward to sharing our art and enthusiasm with all who pass through the gate. See you there. Finally I can share how beautiful it is in our part of the world which
is always inspirational. I felt uncomfortable sharing how gorgeous it has been these past couple of months when the rest of the country was still covered in snow. I am now back in the studio regularly and enjoying exploring new textures, surfaces and materials. I am going to begin painting with oils again after a huge break and I will see where they will take me. The energy of the birds and flowers and new foliage seeps over to ourselves and we blossom and grow as well. Good morning - day two of Arts and Industry Open House at Rock Bay Square.
Last night many people ventured out on the wet and rainy evening to come and see all the artists studios. Today come and visit from noon-4 p.m. There are over 20 artists involved from coffee beans, furniture, jewellery and many other fine artists. Stop by for visual treats for the senses. 2614 Bridge Street and be sure to stop by my studio number 216B. See you there! |
